| description:
|
This layer shows the histosol percentage at 10 meter resolution for the continental United States as derived from the current gSSURGO/SSURGO databases from NRCS. Values range from 10 to 100 percent. Histosols (minus folists for this dataset) have a high content of organic matter and no permafrost. Most are saturated year round, but a few are freely drained. Histosols are commonly called bogs, moors, peats, or mucks. |
