This dataset was created using the calcareous fen dataset provided by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Division of Ecological and Water Resources, a point shapefile derived from the Natural Heritgae "Biotics" Database. Staff at Minnesota Pollution Control Agency adapted and added to the original DNR dataset as needed. Locations of some fens were digitized to complete this dataset. |

The points are a subset from a database received from the MN DNR that represent calcareous fens as defined in Minnesota Rules, part 8420.0935, subpart 2, with the addition of two locations that were not contained in thie original MN DNR dataest.
