Description: For the areas covered in the Major 2 watershed within the Minnesota North East Lake Superior Coastal Region, Lidar DEMs were used to create an updated line dataset for the streams and rivers that flow into Lake Superior. 1 meter Lidar DEMs were modified with culver/bridge/digital dam breach lines to derive flow directions, flow accumulations for 1000 square meter thresholds and stream reach rasters which were then converted to vector lines and analyzed. Vector lines were thinned to include a more accurate and updated dataset for the DNR's current 24k Stream and River Centerlines Dataset, this dataset also includes additional detailed stream and river centerlines which may be of importance for future modification/updates of the MN DNR Stream and River Centerline Inventory.
